TCF-ø166

With the TurboChipFan, the machining centre can automatically remove residues of swarf and cooling lubricants from the workpiece, the clamping device and the machining table following the manufacturing process. This enables the operator – whether human or robot – to remove a clean workpiece from the machining area of the machine tool without first having to rinse it themselves using an air or water jet. When using robots, this removal of swarf is essential, as swarf has a negative impact on process stability. The risk of swarf becoming trapped during reloading is significantly reduced.

No moving parts

The TurboChipFan is manufactured from a single piece. This enables it to generate a constant airflow even at low speeds.

Central channel

The channel in the centre of the propeller allows the workpiece to be flushed initially using the spindle internal cooling system, cooling lubricant and a low speed. The spindle can then be accelerated to its rated speed, and the propeller generates a powerful airflow which removes all chips and coolant residues from the machining table. If there are small pockets, the central channel can also be used to direct a precise jet of air.

Lightweight and Robust

The TCF is easy for the operator to handle yet highly effective. Flying chips leave no noticeable marks or damage on the propeller.

Balanced to G2.5

To ensure that the machining centre’s spindle is not damaged by the propeller, the latter is balanced in advance to a G2.5 standard at rated speed. This ensures incredibly smooth running, which protects the spindle bearings and reduces noise emissions to a minimum.

No coolant carry-over

The TCF ensures that the coolant remains within the machine’s machining area. By removing the coolant from the workpiece and the clamping device before removal, it is not carried out of the machining area.

Smooth operation

The TCF’s rigid body ensures smooth and quiet operation. The TCF’s fixed rotor blades prevent any propeller-like knocking noises, enabling very quiet operation whilst still delivering full cleaning performance.
