HMC-50

The HydraulicMechanicalClamp series was designed for mass production to meet today’s industrial requirements. Thanks to its versatility, it no longer matters whether the workpiece is loaded into the centre clamp by the user or by a robot. The HMC series is the most reliable centre clamp for automated 5-axis machining.
High and adjustable clamping force
High clamping forces ensure a secure hold, but can also lead to deformation of the workpiece. For this reason, the HMC series offers the best solution. When the HMC is operated at maximum pressure, the centre clamping mechanism ensures high clamping forces. If these are too high, the clamping force can be individually adjusted to suit the workpiece via the pressure setting on the machine.
Double clamping security
The internal design of the HMC series ensures that the workpiece remains securely held even in the event of a pressure drop. Only the pressurised operating medium can move the mechanical components and thus the jaws. This makes it impossible to move the clamp without the control medium.
Accessibility
In the HMC series, care has been taken to ensure that the workpiece is accessible from all sides. The external contour even allows the underside of the workpiece, between the workpiece and the chuck, to be machined using a shank cutter.
Compact
The compact design of the HMC series means it can be used on all machining centres. Suitable centre clamps are available from Gremotool for HMC outer diameters ranging from 150 mm to 350 mm.
Low-maintenance
The chip- and water-repellent design of the HMC series prevents foreign particles from entering the mechanical components. This ensures that the lubrication remains effective and extends the maintenance intervals. Care has been taken in the design to ensure there are no recesses where chips or water can become trapped. This allows the centre chuck to be easily cleaned using an air gun, a water gun or automatically via the machine spindle itself.
Extensive range of jaws
The entire Gremotool range of jaws can be used on the HMC series. From gripping jaws to soft aluminium jaws, all workpiece clamping requirements are catered for. The jaws are fitted with the standard Gremotool jaw system, allowing you to change them in no time at all.
Pneumatic or hydraulic
The HMC series is hydraulically operated. Alternatively, the PMC series can be used, as it has the same dimensions.
Centring accuracy
The robust construction of the HMC series prevents any displacement and guarantees precise centring of workpieces to within +/- 0.02 mm. This means there is no need to reset the zero point, thereby saving machining time.
Short set-up times
The various mounting options of the HMC series allow you to position the clamping device precisely on the machine table in the shortest possible time.
Automation solutions
Gremotool offers a range of solutions for controlling the HMC series. Whether you want the robot to feed a media coupling to the HMC, or whether you wish to control it manually via a hand valve or via the machine using a rotary joint, the choice is yours. We have developed solutions for the most common interfaces.
